INDEPENDENT DESIGN PROJECT
This creative journey began during a brief escape from my studio (at the time, my bedroom). Seeking a change of scenery and a fresh perspective, I found myself craving a sour beer I’d enjoyed at a Union Station concert. After some research, I discovered the source: Raspberry Empress by @crookedrunfermentation . Unfortunately, it wasn’t available in my location, but the experience sparked an idea.
The beer’s label didn’t quite align with my memory of its flavor profile. This realization highlighted the inherent subjectivity of design and creativity – interpretations can vary widely. To kick off the New Year with a creative challenge, I set a goal: one creative project per month. The first project? Redesigning the Raspberry Empress label with a new look and feel.
Inspired by tarot cards and Art Nouveau-era illustrations, I embarked on this project despite having no prior experience with this particular style. I’m quite pleased with the outcome!
This project was a rewarding experience, pushing me to explore new skills. The beauty of creativity lies in its inherent diversity; each artist brings a unique perspective to the table.
